Implants for Dentures
Dentures are meant to be replacements for natural teeth, but often patients have trouble keeping them in place. Messy bonding gels or irritating bonding strips are supposed to accomplish this, but too often dentures slip anyway during chewing or talking. If this sounds like your predicament, you may be a candidate for implant dentures in Idaho Falls, offered to our patients here at Park West Dental Care. Implants dentures are by far the most reliable system for holding dentures in place. The first step is the anchoring of the implants. While the patient is sedated, two medical-grade titanium implants are screwed into the upper jaw, and two more are put into the lower jaw. As the bone heals around the implants the new growth grafts into the threads (a process called osseointegration). Osseointegration creates an extremely strong hold on each implant. The exposed parts of the implants are then connected with a small bar that hooks with matching pieces onto the dentures. This is the best method for holding dentures in place, so if you are searching for implant dentures in Idaho Falls, consider Dr. Jacobson, Dr. Drake and their dedicated staff at Park West Dental Care.
Park West Patient’s Testimonial:
| “I received mini implants to secure my dentures and I wish I would have done it sooner! I no longer have embarrassing moments with my dentures becoming loose! The procedure took one appointment and I was back to work that day and eating a steak that night! Thank you Park West Dental! I can now enjoy little things again such as eating an apple! I recommend anyone who has dentures to receive dental implants!” -Pat B. | ![]() |
